For the past year, my lunch break has consisted of shoving a salad into my face with my left hand while typing out Slack responses with my right. Yesterday, I actually closed my laptop lid for a full thirty minutes, sat by the window, and just focused on eating my food without any digital distractions. I returned to my tasks feeling significantly more focused and far less frantic than usual. Are you able to step away from your workspace for lunch, or is the desk-lunch culture too deeply ingrained?

No, but I have no issue eating too.

I can’t think of any time when I ate at my desk - even if I ate in 20-30 minutes, I always left my chair.

If people don't start stepping away from their work area for their lunch break, then companies are going to expect more work from the people. Everyone should take their breaks every time.
