I've used Care and expensive placement agencies and all sucked. Found my current nanny on the Newton nanny Facebook group and she is absolutely amazing. Also found my regular babysitter on there. The nanny / mom groups on Facebook are crazy active
Care, Urbansitter, FB nanny groups, Sittercity, the latter has been our best source
We use a nanny share. That’s to say two women searched and found via a multitude of apps/forums. Price point is based on your area and number of children. Overall, we got lucky to have a nanny with 13 YoE in a myriad of childcare experience. We pay her (split) $27/hr for two boys; that’s a raise from $25 prior year. I believe care.com was our best method/ provided the best applicants overall; allowed us to dictate infant CPR, non-smoker, etc.
Care
Local parent groups worked for us. We lived in Brooklyn and used park slope parents to find our first nanny, but have moved out of state and found similar groups elsewhere.
Care.com but the results vary based on how much effort you put into screening, meeting and vetting.
$35/hr for four kids 1 to 10 yo in ATX
