For those who have the CISSP exam under their belt, what study materials did you use to pass? Do you recommend purchasing the online self-paced training?

I used the Sybex study guide and practice tests, as well as the LearnZApp for drilling questions toward the back end of my studying. I also got access to a week long boot camp that gave me some good pointers before I took the exam. I did not use the online self-paced training. I always point people to the “Why You Will Pass the CISSP Exam” by Kelly Handerhan as well, will help you get into the right mindset when studying and testing.

I used the CISSP Sunflower summary pdf, took a course with Infosec, and had the Wiley official study guide. All were beneficial in different ways. I liked having a variety of practice questions between the Infosec and Wiley online test banks. Mike Chapple, one of the authors of the Wiley study book, has a ton of YouTube videos on topic areas that are on the exam. And I second the Kelly handerhan youtube videos. Good luck!

I used the Destination Certification master class and the official study guide. I found the destination certification master class to be quite helpful and it is an online self paced course.

I used the destination certification course and passed on the 1st try! Really good course and teaches you about important security concepts in layman’s terms

For those of you who got out at 10, do you wish that you rode it out to 20? I’m at a crossroad and I’m not sure what to do. Have some active/reserve time, wrapping up graduate school, and am now considering either a) come back to the business world or b) go active and retire before 50 and live off a nice pension. Obviously there are draws to both. I’m an officer for what it’s worth so I can realistically retire at O-5, MAYBE O-6.

Have $60K scholarship at Booth, nothing at Sloan. However, I already went to UChicago undergrad and live in Boston so have an established network here. However, concerned about lack of soft skills/leadership development, focus on academics, nerdy culture at Sloan.

I’m graduating in December, with a background in environmental economics and policy. Consulting didn’t work out this cycle. Made it to final rounds for Bain and Kearney but in the end didn’t get an offer. I want to recoup and try again, but I’m worried that once I’m out of undergrad the door will be closed to starting in consulting.

What can I do to make this happen? I have friends and connections at Bain and Kearney and the other firms as well, but not sure if it’s feasible now.
