For writers out there: how good has to be your scientific knowledge to grow in your career? We're not medical, but we are required to do good hcp work. Any tips or advice?

Pandemic induced pressure & burnout. Is every agency bad at present? Desperate to move on before it kills me but worried it’s not diff anywhere else. Hearing people are off sick in lots of agencies.
Or does anyone have positive experiences to share?

I am a medical social worker at a hospital since graduating with my MSW. I have been at the job a year and feeling burnout with little options for movement within the company at the moment. Besides case management and therapy (no individual, school, or CMH), what else can I do with my degree? Any advice is appreciated! :)

So, I just fired my first employee as a manager and I'm heartbroken. He was a great, great person but after 6 months on a PIP he just wasn't cutting it skills-wise. I know he was the provider of the household and his wife didn't have a job since she was raising three young ones. Needless to say, I had to take off because I felt terrible, sick to my stomach. How do you deal with firing guilt? Is that a thing? I can't help but feeling like I did something wrong.

I accepted a new job, they said PTO was “generous.” I find out it’s 19 days a year of PTO (which includes sick days). I have two young children and we like to vacation 1-2x a year (no more than a few days away each time). Am I crazy that this is pretty limited time off? 8 of the normal holidays off during the year (working the week between Christmas and NYE). Thoughts? I dont know if lack of PTO is a good reason to back out, is it?
