Work at a mid size regional law firm in Hartford, but billing big law hours (210-240/month) and getting paid %50 of market. Granted I’m in hartford. Salary increases. Only Senior Associates and up get a bonus.
Asking me? I have no idea how this stuff works. But I'm an Assoc now so I got bumped up to a level I'm comfortable with. There's a lot of contributing factors I know that
Averages? I've heard salaries all over the place from 50 to 90 so who knows
Edit: got an MSA with the jump to A so that made a significant difference
All Sr Consultants are not created equal. The level is only part of the equation. You have to factor in Contract Labor Category caps (if applicable) and Job Family (designated by HR, listed on your Workday profile, e.g. Senior Software Engineer versus Program Analyst).
Promotion is usually around 5%. Merit is up to 8%. Salary increases above 10% total require justification. MSAs or Lump Sums of any amount require justification. The SA has to work within the confines of the pool of money provided to him/her for all associated direct reports. He/she has no say in determining the pool amount.
At the most 6%
Thanks all for the input. Would appreciate any stories of negotiating salary if you did, or what your promotion process (with regard to new salary) was like
Up to 5% for promotion and up to 7% for merit.
Clarifying— are these bonus values or salary percent increase?
BA1, commercial practice C-LA also get bonuses
I went from 65 to 68, and was a bit underpaid to begin with
interesting. such a small raise. Isnt the average sr consultant salary much higher? Is that because they come in with a higher base?
I got lucky, joined a great team and my boss likes me. Didn't need to push for it. But if you can do market research or find a competing offer to prove you are worth more, that seems to be the best option
