Any Spotify people here? Noticed there’s an AM role going at the moment in the UK but not sure what experience level it is. For reference I’ve got 6 years in ad sales experience with 3 years management (both in music industry). Would this be comfortable or is it worth holding out for AD?

Microsoft Received some feedback yesterday that I’m “Too smart for the role and they feared that I’d get bored and leave quickly. “ It’s honestly the most confused I’ve ever left a call. Does anyone know what this means? I thought it was a compliment initially but in retrospect it just doesn’t seem very genuine. Have y’all had anyone hit you with this one?

Also, if management reacts really badly, you don’t have to stay the 2 weeks. Staying 2 weeks is typical and happens when both sides handle the departure well, but if management reacts badly you can go the day you resign. So, be prepared to go as soon as you resign, just in case.

Same. Not nervous though. Excited. Feel sad for the people I like who will have to pick up the slack, but that’s about it.
You’ll do great! Don’t say anything negative, sometimes managers can sense when you’re about to resign. When I resigned this year I said “thanks for meeting with me. It’s never ideal to say something like this for the team or company, I’m putting in my notice as another big opportunity has come my way. This decision was not easy to make and rest assured I will do everything to wrap up and help with transitions…”
I once had a manager try to let me go later that day cause she was pissed, but the other execs told me to stay and wfh. In another role my boss burst out crying and said sorry and tried to keep me. Know that whatever happens, hold your ground and trust you’ll figure it out!
And congrats!
Hey there, you got this. I was in the same boat as you last month and gave ample notice but still felt bad. Change isn’t easy but the best piece of advice i can offer is that you have to always do what is best for you. Best of luck tomorrow and congratulations on your new gig ❤️

What’s a meeting role?
Yup! Management role, whoops!
You’ve got this. Last job I quit the owner of the agency was super high strung. I was nervous as hell. It went fine. It’s just business. Congrats on the new role.

What kinda reaction are you worried for? You're not in high school anymore.
Odds are they will sigh wearily and figure out how to move on. It’s the business. They know people are looking. And it’s even more so now.
Why are you nervous about how management will react?
Businesses don’t have feelings. They’d get rid of you for “business reasons” at the drop of a hat. Good luck at your new gig.
What are they gonna do, be mad? Wave goodbye with a smile. You seem happy with the change. Their feelings don’t really matter. In my experience, quitting is harder in your head than in reality.
