Go across Madison. About halfway between 41/42, there is an entrance to Grand Central (golden colored doors). Go down the stairs and in the tunnel on the left side is one of the best shoe repair places I have ever used. They shine as well. They have a good reputation internally - the guy also comes into 300'Mad to shine.

Shine them yourself....I promise it's way better.
P1 that's where I usually go! Amazing, just in a bind and traveling this week
Okay, OP, I just realized that you were asking about NYC, lol. I was thinking of Chicago because of the ORD reference.
In NYC, the absolute best shine, and the only place I go, is a 10+ minute walk away from our office, but trust me, it's worth the walk. Eddie's Shoe Repair at 30 Rockefeller Center.
Shoe shining isn't rocket surgery, it's quite difficult to fuck your shoes up with shoe polish.
^only BCG things 😂. It's normally used in reference to brain surgery though
Used to live in NY. Grand central has a great shoe shine operation across from the Starbucks, not too far from warby parker
EY1 Im just terrified I'd fuck them up
There are no shoe shine places in Australia (well very rare if there are some). Huge cultural trend of "mateship" and not being better than anyone else. Having someone else shine your shoes apparently just isn't done. Having said that, it's nice to be back and see shoe shines!
^ Rocket surgery. The bastard child of rocket science and heart surgery?
YouTube + Amazon, then DIY.
Thanks guys went to eddys in grand central
