Hello Gang, I’m on the business side for Walmart right now. Walmart Global Tech recently offered me a role to move to the San Bruno office, but I’d be taking a demotion from L6 to E5. YOE: 8, COMP(200k base, 25% bonus, 100k RSU). Is this competitive in the bay? I have Doordash and Instacart in the pipeline, but no final offers yet.
Hii Guys, Could anyone give me some clarity on the below point. I have cleared 2nd round of technical interview at Deloitte, but my candidature is still showing as interview in progress at Deloitte careers page. I had a discussion with HR on this and she told me that next process is pending from management side. It's been almost 10 days since from 2 nd round of interview. How much more time does it gonna take, any idea? Or is it normal. Please help me with this 🙏🙏 .Deloitte

If you’d like to be killed at work go with the PL role
Thanks everyone. Final round of BCG tmrw. I know I posted before I even had the offer. But have been anxious.
Being a lateral hire PL is not easy. It's a role that has a significant learning curve even for folks that have 2 years at the firm as a C with lots of PL practice runs.
That being said, when you nail it, it's super rewarding and the upside is greater in the long term than with the Google role.
That being said, as others have said, upside doesn't matter if it's not aligned with what you want longer term
Google
@BCG3 - it's really strange that you and I consulted the same source and saw different numbers. I agree that Glassdoor is not always reliable, so let me share with you my other source: I worked 6 years at Google so I have a pretty good idea how their levels/comp. compare to strategy consulting.
@OP - did Google make you an offer? If so, do you mind sharing what it was?
C1 Just nailed it with a framework. Kudos. Not!

Is compensation comparable?
^Asking because a Google Director role is more comparable to Partner at MBB from a comp perspective. A PL role is more comparable to a level 6.
@EM1, that makes no sense... Highest end director total comp listing on Glassdoor is still roughly half what an entry level partner at BCG makes all in... Average is a little principal level, which comes 2 years after PL and 5 years and a huge promotion step before partner...
Maybe an HR director is comparable to a Principal at BCG, but I assure you a Sales or Engineering Director can easily make more than a junior Partner. Look at the range of the screenshot attached.
The work is pretty different I would think. Which do you enjoy more? PL is tough for sure but awesome learning. And pretty fun once you ‘figure it out’.
@EM1 is right - these roles are not comparable by comp. Our directors start at $700k TC non-end and go up from there the closer you get to a core product
Google!
The numbers being thrown around around for director salaries are wildly different. Glassdoor says ~$130k-$670k (adding in stock goes higher sure, but high stock grants aren't typically a yearly event) , not sure where EM1's screenshot comes from but says $90k-$2M, and G1 says starting at $700k... if you believe the upper end of these numbers is reasonable, I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn. The Glassdoor numbers seem pretty reasonable
@BCG3- the numbers have a big range because Eng & non-Eng get paid very differently with the same titles. Also, there are two levels with “Director” title that typically take 6-8 years to complete on one’s way to VP
