Also i spoke to someone there and he told me that my work life would not change if i went there. They work just as long hours as PA.
Holy shit that is a nice bonus..
All - would asking for $120k be a stretch?
It's worth a shot
Would you definitely take it at 120? Don't negotiate if you don't plan on taking it
I'm no fishbowl pro but my move would be to get on Amazon's fishbowl and ask similar folks what they make.
Wait I thought financial analysts would work less hours regardless the company.
I thought it was by industry? Do companies have their own fishbowl?
@BDO 1, I think so too - will definitely check on that! Did you get an offer from AMZN previously?
Ahh MA thanks for the clarification..and no OP I wish I did 😪
What is your current salary/bonus
Those rsu are really tempting. If you havent discussed being partner, take the job if you can get salary to 115k
@RSM 1 - $77k base and 5% bonus usually, so it is a good bump. Do you think asking for $115k is reasonable?
Over the next 4 years if you got no more bonuses or raises ten you will atleast get about 500 in comp based off of what you originally posted. Stay in public if you think you'll eventually make more over the next 4 years (manager,sr manager) and possibly partner track. Idk how much salaries grow in industry but heard they can be stagnant
@Moss Adams 1 - agree, although when I left PA last month...I was a 2nd year senior, so at least 1.5 years to Manager (earning $95k)...then maybe $100k as 2nd yr manager... and i hear my firm was making it slower for each level promotion. Which is why i considered leaving.
Youre esentially asking for 8% increase in salary to go to 115, i think its doable, asking for 120 might be a stretch tho. You dont want to make it all about the salary, honestly i would ask for more rsu. Amazon stock is booming and will continue to boom, in my humble opinion.
Where do you live now OP
@ RSM 1 - agree, I will talk with recruiter tomorrow to see what wiggle room there is for base pay (since I do have a similar offer base pay wise). Whatever they gave me now is decent, but would of course like to lock in a higher rate if possible!
@ PwC 3 - I live in Seattle now, so they don't need to spend on a relocation package!
Do you have any advqnced dgrees? I would like and offer like this. Im in tax as well but focus on federal mainly. Any tips to a first year associate that wants to work in international?
Did you travel a lot to other countries or go expat?
Well best of luck on your negotiation. Good bonuses, rsu, and sizable jump in salary either way. Amazon's 401k is extremely low, matching 50% of first 4%. Not sure what your firm offers pension or 401k wise. Not sure about other company benefits. I do have their credit card tho A+++
