It's an Election Day miracle! The NYC office holiday party is in a Thursday! There is a chance, after 5 years, I may actually be able to attend.
If putting in your notice while on PTO/bench, would you propose that the last day be the last date of your PTO (given it’s more than 2 weeks away)? Or sooner / 2 weeks from now?
Tell me how you’ve lost your wedding ring. I’ve lost mine in the ocean while on beach vacation last week and was absolutely devastated.
How do y'all combat burnout? Vacation is a long way off, and I think it's really starting to set in since haven't taken time off since starting in September
PwC, if you leave do they payout your vacation balance (If so, how much?) Or is it best to use up the hrs?
For all ex-Deloitte 🐠 I’m in advisory. Leaving 3 months before my 2 years is up. How does the sign on bonus repayment work? Do they take it out of our final check? Or PTO payout? If I wanted to talk to someone about prorating the amount to pay back, who would that be and at what point do I do that? I appreciate any input!
Anyone else enjoying this holiday time on the bench?
Any suggestions for neighborhoods/streets/displays of holiday decorations and lighting? Back in LA there were neighborhoods known to have the best decorations and we’d do a drive through it. Anything like that here?
How is Deloitte with PTO? If I need to take a Thursday/Friday off- do they let me fly back on a Wednesday instead?
I recently started a new job and it in no way is panning out as it was made out to seem when I started and there are lots of red flags I’m just tolerating right now… for example, even pto and remote work is not as discussed from the onset. Is it too soon to start looking for something new? How does one go about explaining why you’d leave so soon to a potential new employer?
Started at a new firm 3 months ago, first two months was swamped staffed on a huge deal, (my only file) did my hours everything good. July: deal was supposed to close did not due to regulatory stuff but my work stream is done and over and am now really really slow, asked for work to people I had worked with to help them close - nothing, staffed on a new deal , client on vacation so everything is on stand by. I’m freaking out don’t know how to reach to partners/senior associates (ctd in comments)
Came across the concept of “cash envelope stuffing” on youtube. Seems like a pretty good concept to avoid overspending on each category of expenses. I am trying to get some ideas to incorporate this concept using multiple bank accounts/ cards. Where I allocate a set budgeted amount of money each month, to each bank account tagged for a specific category (groceries, vacation, emergency fund, etc). Is this something you have tried or have any ideas on how to go about it? Do you recommend this?
I have an industry offer and some flexibility kn start dates. Should I take 2 weeks of vacation then quit OR quit and enjoy a 2 week break before the new job? What are the trade offs to consider?
Does PwC pay out PTO when you quit? Anyone with past experience know? How does this work?
Planning to accept another job soon but have a scheduled 1 week vacation starting next week. When should I put in 2 weeks notice that I’m leaving? Is it a risk that they withdraw approval of my long-approved PTO? New job wants me to start ASAP so I’d feel bad delaying start dat over a month if the solution is to wait until after vacation to give 2weeks notice
Hi everyone. Starting my MBA in the fall and have some time off beforehand. For those who are in an MBA program or who already completed theirs, is there anything you wish you brought to campus? I’m thinking specific clothes, technology, etc.? Kind of random, I know, but want to set myself up for success. I’m F and will be going to school somewhere with winter.
Hello, My last day in Accenture was 16 July 2021. I got paid yesterday 1-15 July 2021. Do i have to wait until 6 Aug 2021 for the final one day pay as well my PTO pay? Let me know if anyone has idea. Thanks

Hi Fishes, Can I add my parents to the Health insurance scheme provided by KPMG? If yes, how much would they charge and the benefits? P.s. - I would be joining this October and needed your advices...🙏🏾
Do you even call yourself a dog parent unless you have a blanket/pillow/t-shirt/mug/necklace/something with a tribute to your dog?!
My husband and I want to buy a new car and are TTC. Parents with 1 kid do you think an SUV is easier to manage with or a sedan works just as fine with all the baby stuff to carry around (stroller, extra clothes, etc). Am I just making a big deal over nothing? We currently have a 2 door car which is very impractical for more than 2 ppl.

I have an HSA I haven’t maxed out and am switching to a new employer in 2 wks with whom I’ll be signing up for a non-HSA healthcare plan. Can I still max out my HSA for the year?
What are some good virtual event ideas for a holiday party? Trying to keep it around $70 per person.
Tech fish, what is your market TC vs your expected TC? Market TC = base + bonus + RSUs vesting over the next 12 months valued at GRANT price Expected TC = base + bonus + RSUs vesting over the next 12 months valued at CURRENT price Market TC should be competitive with what you can get from other companies. Expected TC is reflective of stonk luck. Would also be interesting to know how long you’ve been at your company. I’ll start Market TC = $330k Expected TC = $595k Tenure just under 3 years
