This seems like a crazy jump. Did you take a pay cut or were you hired at a lower level at Accenture?

Having worked at both the sr mgr role at ey is equal to the role at Accenture from a responsibility perspective. I will say this that I think the ey role is worse and harder. When I was at Accenture the quality of the assets such as methodologies, frameworks, tools, and pretty much everything else is on a completely different level than what ey has. When I joined ey I found that the cupboards were bare and the strategy people lacked skills due to being staffed mostly on long term pmo transformation support roles. I had to create most of my own materials and train my teams. If you are really being offered a double jump and don’t have a strong baseline of experience to pull on you may struggle. If you can survive a year or so though and have it in your resume no one can take that back from you. Depends on your long term goals.

There is overlap but given they have a ‘director’ level between SM and partner I would say that their SM overlaps with new promote SM at Accenture but our people stay at SM for longer before MD. So our tenured SMs might be Directors (given not everyone goes L5).
Either way, very well done! Take the offer for sure.

Accenture levels are an about a half grade below the big 4. So an accenture manager is like a SC2 at a place like Deloitte (my former, I’m now at accenture). EY levels are very different between MC and Parthenon. An SM at Deloitte would typically go to Sr. Dir at P but SM for MC.
