Hello!
I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.
Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.

Don’t ever do it.
You leaving would create a problem they can’t fix in the 2 week notice problem. So they offer you more money to stay. But they no longer trust you and will take steps to hire a replacement and once they’re up to speed they can push you out with minimal disruption.
Offers don’t just happen.
There’s a reason you applied to other roles, went through multiple rounds of interviews, etc. Change can be scary, but the answer isn’t to stay. Especially now that you might have poisoned the well.
I am not in house but I accepted a counter offer from my old firm. I really thought that I loved it there and I wasn’t planning to leave when I presented them with my offer and asked them to match it, but they treated me horribly after I accepted their counter offer. I left within 3 months because of the poor treatment.
Thank you for sharing
Generally you should never stay because the well is already poisoned by your trying to leave
This might be the unicorn situation where the well might not actually be poisoned. Just know that if you take the counter offer you should keep an eye out for the kinds of things others have raised, just in case you aren’t the unicorn!
Go. Or go back to the 1st company and tell him to give you their best and final.
Thanks
