Wow, I am truly sorry that you feel that you might have to disguise or hide your first name name in order to get an interview. That’s such crap. I’ve got a pretty basic name that has no ethic background to it so I don’t understand your struggle, but it is heartbreaking to hear that people are dealing with this now.
I have the most unethnic name in the world, so I haven't experienced that. If you think it might be an issue, experiment with an initial for your first name and use your middle name. That's the only way you would ever know for sure. What have you got to lose?
This is true. The worst they may do is skip over my application which it feels like they do anyway 😅😅
As a former hiring manage for over twenty years, I recommend the name on your resume match the name on the application. Don't play games by trying to hide your real name because it will come out during the interview process at some point. Once you are hired, you can request your coworkers call you by any name you want.
