Has anyone pivoted from management consulting into pre-sales / solution consulting / solution engineering in tech (e.g., Solution Engineer at Salesforce, Solutions Consultant at Service Now or Adobe)?
Were you able to credibly position your transferable skills? Did you have to start at entry level, or could you come in at a more senior band? And does hands-on experience with the specific platform give a real edge in the process?

I finished a third round interview, and HR contacted me that afternoon saying I had positive feedback across the board and they would contact me the next day regarding next steps. It’s been two days and they finally get back to me saying they haven’t been able to sync with the hiring manager but will keep me posted. Honestly I wish they would talk with the hiring manager and then let me know the decision instead of checking in. It’s messing with my emotions.

Can someone explain the difference between FB’s Partner Solutions Manager and the Strategic Partner Manager? From an initial recruiter call, it seems the SPM provides the consultative product recs while the PSM onboards the client onto that product and tracks performance to provide actionable recs as needed. Anyone know career growth and salary for these two? I don’t want a sales heavy/only lateral growth role like their client solutions manager roles so these seem like good compromises?
