Hi guys ,
I am in a US project in Accenture. We have long calls in the night timings. My other teammate has backed out saying she won't attend any calls as she got some medical condition so she won't attend long calls which extend till 9:30.Other teammate is a junior. The managers are expecting me to join all the calls. No help I am getting. And they all being Tamil, I think some partiality is going on between them.Even our onsite lead is of no use.She expects me to attend long calls.
What should I do .pls suggest?

Yes. Clients reduced scoped then wanted more projects or projects went out of scope later. Mostly due to their internal BS. Sometimes we got a scope increase. Sometimes we had to cut current projects to make up the difference. Mixed bag. Key is to remain flexible with your clients and pivot quickly.
Thank you. This is excellent advice.
Yes- to add to above, when the scope is decreased make sure to adjust assumptions (# of reviews, deliverables, etc). Disclaimer the hell out of it too (ex: *Scope is determinant on assumed number of reviews; any deviation from assumptions may result in adjustment to scope)
Also good to note to the client that it’s not necessarily the project cost, it’s based on time needed to complete based on # of hours and the negotiated rates in the MSA. So if the hours are capped for certain things that don’t make sense, it will either go over or the the output may not have the level of checks and balances to ensure quality.
You can always say “we’ll do our best to mind the budget but wanted to caveat these things ahead of time” and then make sure to flag at 50/75% of budget.
Also- early in the year clients protect their overall budget, so whatever is allocated to your agency might be smaller, but they probably are holding some while awaiting opportunities. Usually around end of Q3 clients scramble to spend their budgets and start reallocating. So prioritize the first 3 quarters.
Consider an early in-year Tactical planning as well to show value and ROI, and highlight possible missed opportunities with the reduced budget.
This is the most solid advice I’ve received. The care that you put into this response is very helpful and appreciated. Thank you.
I did once. But that was because we were more than halfway done and had to start over. Most of the time I make up for it on other jobs when we work more efficiently. It's really a shell game.
