I worked in a different service line the cyber at Avanade before transitioning to the big 4.
Pros:
1. I found by in large the people to be great and geek out over technology - in a good way
2. Not as bureaucratic as the big 4
3. Work on some pretty cool projects from a technology perspective
4. When I was there they consistently had double digit growth
5. Access to the latest tech and information from Microsoft
Cons:
1. Sometimes felt like we were solely implementing tech, not always “consulting”
2. At least when I was there, an interesting dynamic with Accenture. Kind of felt like we were the step child. Accenture does staff Avanade on projects fairly regularly, but you are viewed as second class (by in large, I’m sure some projects are different)
3. Bonus was substantially lower than at my current big4
This was pretty well laid out by MA1.
Don't do it
Can you provide some more insight?
My boss worked at Avenade for a long time. He made SM there before transferring to Accenture. His view is, as one of the comments above noted, he was treated like a stepchild on Accenture projects.
If it pays what you're looking for and the work seems to suit your interests, there's no reason not to take a job there, but I expect you'll be looking to transition either to MS or ACN eventually.
I worked there for 3 years and loved it. I've thought about gong back at times.
