Has anyone worked in federal consulting? Thinking about exploring that as a path going forward out of change work specifically @2YOE. Which would you pick and why?

Do you all see a compelling future in your tax career? I’ll go first, I don’t see a compelling future working for a large PA firm in the long run because you have to work more as you move up. However, I do see a compelling future by using my knowledge and skills to open my own firm/business and work less hours as long as I make enough money which is $75k, or if I do work long hours, it’s because I want to.

I can really use some direction. My background, I've worked 2 years in strategy and am currently coming off an exhausting year 2 in investment banking. I didn't particularly enjoy either role and am not interested in moving over to the buy-side or some monotonous FP&A role. Everybody says there's exit-ops aplenty, but I find myself with less options and even more picky than I did as an ambitious T2 undergrad student. Where do I go from here?

Has anyone gone from a federal gov’t employee to private industry? I’m considering making the swap for better pay, I make decent money where I’m at and I know I have job security. Just trying to see if there is anyone else that was bold enough to make the leap.

Looking to do a career pivot into VC. Have 12+ years of B2B tech marketing experience with IBM, Google, Deloitte and a number of startups. I want to leave my captive company. I don’t think I am ready to be totally on my own even with a cluster group etc. There is an option to be subcontractor in another independent company.
