Have offers from GT, RSM, and Deloitte Tax. Negotiated comp to be identical for all. GT is for SM, and RSM and Deloitte is for experienced manager. Having trouble deciding which one to pick. Location is SFO. Any insights from my fellow fishes?

Going in as SM means you’re primed to fail. Going in as experienced manager gives you time.

like

That’s a pretty huge “only adjustment” there. You’ll be on the clock to build a book with no established client relationships and no internal network. Experienced manager gives you a little time to meet some clients and learn your internal network before the clock starts ticking.

If $ is all the same, I would take DT. The title will not matter in 2 years from now.

like

Agreed.

In the Bay Area PWC and EY are a bit stronger (depending on specialty). May want to consider shopping those two as well.

like

Big4 experienced manager.

Why is the comp for GT the same as the rest when your role would be for SM? If I’m not mistaken you should be getting a lot more from GT…..

What size firm are you at now?

Hey everyone I’m making a large career change. I’m still working at my current role but have been learning to code for a minute. Html, css, JavaScript, python, and SQL. Hopefully by the end of my contract (June 2023) I’ll have a decent portfolio with 4 solid apps. This is my goal. Has anyone else broke into tech w/o a official degree along side it? If so what resources did you use?

Working for a senior who is beyond horrible. She talks to you like you’re stupid and makes it sound like you’re absolutely terrible at what you’re doing. She’s made 5 other associates cry during her 5 year career. Got someone fired and made another person quit. It’s known around the office that she can no longer have a female associate, because she talks down to females more than she does males. I came along and thought I could deal with it but she literally makes me want to not log on tomorrow.

About to quit a job in just one month of joining... what should I do...just hit the exit button, or keep a call with the Manager or the HR?

What are the things that I should say as the reason to quit so that I face the least issues.
I am just quitting for a better opportunity but don't want to burn the bridges here at the same time.

Would request the experienced fishes to help me with this. I am new to these kind of situations and really need help with how to handle this.

It’s been more than 10 days and multiple follow ups but still no response. I don’t think I was rude while talking to the HR, I just told my current salary and asked for min. that no. Did i miss the chance ?
