Have you or anyone you know taken a break from working in law just to come back later? Can you share anything about that experience? I don't necessarily think I want to drop the profession entirely, but I do believe I could use some time away for my own sake.

Thinking about switching from a big 4 to a mid-sized firm. For those that have done it, was the culture change significant/what was your experience like?

Starting off my career as a tech adjacent generalist (strategy, project management, etc). I doubt I'll ever be a software developer or something, but I want my long term career path to remain very closely tied to tech. Anyone have tips on what I should be doing now in light of that? Does anyone know if this is normal? I joined a vault 100 firm in September last year. The firm put me on tier 7. In January I had the associate review and everything was normal. After a couple of weeks, I got the call from the hiring partner telling my bonus and new salary (because of the firm-wide salary increase). I realized I still get paid as a 7 year associate. The partner said because I joined the firm later in the year, it’s normal not to advance in the next year. Is it? Thanks!

They offer two options: the “traditional” course (which lasts around 2.5 months) and an extended 6-month course.
