Hello everyone,
I just joined Amazon and was wondering what was the best practices to adopt as I venture into my professional journey? What steps should I take to prepare myself to set myself up for promotion in the coming years? What type of projects should I focus on?
I primarily work in AMZL and look over shipping account management for amazon selling partners

Welcome to Amazon! As a new starter take the time to onboard yourself properly, learn as much as you can and utilise all the resources you’re given to the fullest. Ask questions and lean on your team and ‘AD1’ colleagues, we have all gone through the same and are here to support new starters!
First step towards promo would be to take a look at the levelling guidelines and see where you set across all the pillars. Starting a tracking sheet to understand the level you’re operating at and identifying areas of growth would set you up for a conversation starter with your manager. Do not be shy to ask your manager for feedback etc as to how you are performing in regular 121s

Hi 👋 Any good UX books for senior designer level that helps with strategy, and good frameworks, or anything that will help me with my thought process? I have the basic books like don’t make me think, and 100 things. I’ll be joining a startup soon as chief designer, and will be back to being a full stack designer — I’ve been an IC for the past few years, so I definitely need to improve on strategies and maybe frameworks when it comes to UX. Will appreciate any suggestions. Thanks! 🙏🏻

Additional Posts in Amazon UK & EU

Hi team. I received my offer from Amazon and signed my contract a few weeks ago. I also resigned from my current company after agreeing on a starting date mid-January. Seeing the news of the hiring freeze worries me though - do we know if this applies to roles where offers have been extended? Could they retract an offer after I signed a contract? Not sure what are my rights. Let me know if you have any tips/knowledge to share!

Hi I am making an internal move (Program Management) in the same org but different team, from London to another EU locale . The offer unfortunately did not offer relocation package. Am I able to negotiate salary (pounds to €) , or is it fixed and no room for negotiation? Thanks

Hello all,

I am currently in the process for interviewing for a role at
Amazon for their office in Basildon in corporate (HR if it wasn't implied by my title). Spoke to the recruiter and on my application it will be £55k base but wondered what level is that and what leeway I have for bonus (sign on) and what is the RSU looking like. I am also needing some help if possible please on the interview process as I would really like to get this since it is my dream job.

Any help appreciated.

Hi guys - I accepted my offer from Amazon yesterday (via email). I received my Amazon Joiner Support email earlier today. I was wondering when was the best moment for me to resign and give my notice? Feels like they’re doing employer checks and visa checks before sending out the employment contract… Im currently pre-settled status in the UK, and wondering how to best approach this. Any tips are welcome. Thanks, x

Hi all! Received an offer today for London - the position is L5

Base: 55k

Cash Payments:

Y1: 17K

Y2: 16K

RSU: 500 shares (Y1: 25 Shares, Y2: 75 Shares, Y3: 200, Y4: 200)

Keen to get feedback. Feel that the base salary was too low but from my conversation with the recruiter there might be wiggle room on the cash payments potentially. What are your thoughts? Any tips appreciated!

Thanks

Hi everyone.
Just reached final on-site round for a Senior Manager position (non tech) in the logistics department (London office). Recruiter has just asked me now for my expected compensation (base salary + total comp) via email before scheduling the loop. Any idea what to aim for?

I don’t know the level but was aiming £80k base, +15% bonus. If I don’t fall under their budget, would I automatically be removed from candidates?

Background: 7YOE, 2 Masters Degree
Any tips are appreciated!

Hi all! I’m currently on promo track for L6 BDM this quarter in London and wondered what the base salary increase % might look like? Would be great to have an idea of what I can expect 😊
Thanks!
