Hello Everyone,

Looking to understand Lockheed Martin’s leveling. I work for Northrop Grumman where we have 3 levels of Program Managers. After that, they are called Directors, then VP, etc.

Lockheed seems to have around 5-6 levels of Program Manager. What do the levels equate to? What level would an experienced Sr. Project Manager or IPT Lead move into? At NG, that is typically level 2 (non-associate level).

Thanks!

LM's leveling structure goes like this:

Individual Contributor(IC) Route -
- Level 1(E1) = 0-2yrs of experience aka. Engineer Asc
- Level 2(E2) = 2-5yrs of experience aka. Engineer
- Level 3(E3) = 5-9yrs of experience aka. Engineer Sr
- Level 4(E4) = 9-14yrs of experience aka. Engineer Stf
- Level 5(E5) = 14-20yrs of experience aka. Engineer Sr Stf
- Level 6(E6) = > 20yrs of experience aka. Engineer Prin or LM Fellow

Functional management Route, starts with Level 3 -
- Level 3(L3) aka. Engineering Supervisor
- Level 4(L4) aka. Engineering Asc Mgr
- Level 5(L5) aka. Engineering Mgr
- Level 6(L6) aka. Engineering Sr Mgr
- Level 7(L7) aka. Engineering Director
- Level 8(L8) aka. VP
Anything higher are EVP/CxOs

Thank you so much! You have been very helpful.

Now all that is left is to network my way in. I work with LM PMs, Procurement, and Quality teams but it’s a customer vs subtler relationship.

Any advice on how to express my interest to someone in person without seeming treasonous haha

I’m thinking of asking one of the Mgrs I work with to serve as a referral.

Wondering if the eventual payoff would worth the effort. Will I level up quicker? Employer has partial tuition reimb.

Hlo guys,
Which are the certifications that can add great value to our CV as An IT employee ?

Attended a top 5 UG and have 1 YOE. Doing mostly public sector work right now. Hours are fine, but pay is not at all competitive and the work is slow and not interesting. Thinking of exiting to something that’s more intense and stimulating. Thoughts on next steps? Should I try to apply and lateral to a different firm that isn’t so public sector focused?

I'm currently an ops manager at a big 4 in London and received an offer from a small boutique firm with 25-30% pay rise.

The crazy thing is they were just named the best local municipality to work for. It's upsetting. They advertise a "culture" but don'tapply it. How do I recover from this?
