Hello, I have a question. My regional manager told me that she wants me to inform her of anytime an employee under me has a complaint about the company. I think this would be fine if she wanted to know so she could fix it, but instead she wants to know that information so she can fire people for being “negative.” I don’t think I should be reporting my employees when they have a complaint… I feel like that would be the opposite of an open door policy? Any suggestions on how to handle this?

Oh wow that is terrible and I would definitely be careful getting caught up in all of that. That sounds borderline illegal because you can't fire people for having complaints about the company they work for. People are allowed to have their complaints and opinions and when they come to you, they are trusting you not to share that with others.

We live in at will employee state, does that matter for this law? Because I do believe you can get fired for complaining

I found one of my coworker's anonymous Twitter accounts, and it has a ton of red flags involving bigotry, sexism, etc. It's a personal account, so should I mention it to HR or not?

I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. Half of the time you go to meet with him in person, he’s either on a call or otherwise busy. I find that this basically creates more work and makes meeting deadlines extremely difficult. Hi friends,

I'm a new joinee in MSFT.

People in my team they don't come with me for breaks. (They blame the timings are different since they sit in crits but i don't think so because they have their own group of friends to go with)

Secondly, when my team members see me in cafeteria we expect they'll sit with us but people here are being rude they directly go and sit with their friends they don't call you to join. ( atleast they could have said they are accompanied)

I’ve noticed that HR, when explaining why a candidate didn’t get the job, tend to lean on “You’re great, but we had candidates with more experience in [skill relevant to the job].” I do believe this is true in some cases, but it can’t possibly be for all of them.

A report opened to me that they are having money problems and wants a raise. We are remote and they moved to a high CoL city. We gave an increase to help with retention 6mths ago. Does anyone else just not even want to be a people manager anymore?! The amount of work this is taking, I’m just so over it. One of my top talents just put in his two weeks notice and I had nothing to offer him to stay. I told upper management this was going to happen! We interviewed a great candidate, extended a verbal offer and she accepted. We sent the written offer a few days ago but she hasn’t opened it or accepted (it’s expiring tomorrow).
