Hi all,
Need help , can anyone let me know if Accenture is giving work from home as of now ? I mean i have been offered, and the HR is telling me to collect the assets from the base location and the policy of dispatching the assets to home location is no more. Now initially it was communicated it will be work from home for at-least 6 months now i am building trust issues to join the organisation.

As a former recruiter & HR PM: this situation is status quo across industries when you’re leaving for the competition.
By law, 49 out of 50 states are “at will” employment, and unless you have a contract (which usually only benefits the employer) you a) don’t even have to give a two week notice b) they don’t have to let you work out those two weeks.
At least they’re paying out those two weeks; some will force you to seek unemployment & that can be a real pain.
My advice to anyone reading this, burn your sick time before you put in your notice. Floating holidays too. And if you’re in a state that doesn’t require them to pay out PTO, go ahead and crank those out too. By then, they’ll likely know you’re on your way out & there’s nothing they can do about it.
Always look out for yourself, because HR is looking out for the company, not you.
100% this. I recently got promoted and still have a few weeks before I officially transition over. I’m trying to burn off the PTO I built up because I won’t be paid out for it and I have a rule where I don’t take time off the first 6 months of a new job.
I also work at Progressive and have seen people walked out if they are going to a competitor. I didn’t know they were still paid though. This is good info! 😂. Are you an adjuster? 👀 Nod slowly if the pay is much higher so I can know my next move.
Im in cali, but we can live anywhere on the west coast since it is remote.
I wouldn’t say it’s normal but to me it seems like a good deal. I’d take it!
Why would you do that? When it comes to switching employers, always keep your cards close. Also the risk of new company rescinding offers, hiring freeze m, etc.
Don’t feel bad. The company will replace you tomorrow.
When I gave my two weeks notice, I was let go at the end of that day. That is pretty standard for the industry. This is to prevent employees from taking client information to their new employer. I knew I wouldn’t be allowed to work my two weeks out so I actually planned a vacation during that time anyway. Ask your new employer if you can move your start date up if the lapse in employment will cause an issue with finances.
Yes this is normal. You should never tell them you’re leaving to go to a competitor because then you are required to leave. You can leave under good terms but you can use PTO to pay for the remaining of your two weeks or take it unpaid.
Yes. Typically in the industry if your going to a competitor than it’s standard procedure. However, next time give a two week notice then you’ll be good.
Whenever you are going to a competitor it’s policy you have to leave immediately. Think about it from a business perspective.
2 weeks notice or not. It wouldn’t matter.
I don’t work at Marshall’s, to be clear- but I can’t change my profile. In insurance it’s very common to be asked to leave immediately if going to a competitor. When I switched from UW to Broker, I had to work my two weeks. When I switch from one firm to another, I was walked out immediately and my desk items were shipped to my house. They didn’t allow any time for me to be in the office to gather any intel (as if I wouldn’t have thought about that prior to giving my notice).
