Hello! I was hoping to get some advice.

I've been in the manager position for about a year now and I'm trying to revamp some of our procedures. One of these is how revisions and order priority are handled.

I typically prefer first-in-first-out rules, but some revision requests are really small changes while others can take several hours of work, if not days. I want to define points for when to move these rev's up in the queue. I was wondering how everyone else handles these instances.

I’ve been in a similar spot, and it can be tricky to balance quick and more intensive tasks, especially when you're managing a team. Maybe a tier system could work—like quick fixes under 30 minutes get bumped up, while bigger ones stay in the regular queue? You might want to get buy in from the team but I organize my own priorities this way and it might work well for a team too

That's a great idea. I need to implement this idea in our drafting queue.

Most places that I’ve known have permitted task management to be up to the employees themselves, of course, depending on the context. However, integrating a consistent system is worthwhile nonetheless.

I am a Strategic Sourcing Manager with 7 YOE in both direct and indirect spend across various industries (Life sciences, IT and Insurance) I have been offered a role with Fidelity for 13 lpa + 1.5 variable. Offer seems better than the national average for similar roles but I feel I would be underpaid based on the current market, my skills and value I will be bringing to the table. Any suggestions for offer negotiations?

I am trying to figure out how to switch to SWE. I have a masters in civil engineering and have a good background in higher level math. It looks like the better coding boot camps are quite expensive. The alternative is another masters in CS which is the same cost as many boot camps. Any recommendations on picking between a coding boot camp and getting another masters degree in CS? I’m looking to get into the best position possible after getting an education in CS (get a job quick and good pay).

Quick question.
I was a contractor for a big company and they just let me know that my last day is December 30th. I got this position thanks to a recruiting company that has been great and gives me benefits.
Should I:
- Continue working with the recruiting company, hoping that they will find another position for me? (as they told me they will, and when they applied me I started working with my current company within 2 weeks)
- Work with the recruiter + apply for jobs on my own?

How do I leave my role as someone on the talent team. I am on a small recruitment team of only a few people, who connect daily. I am also responsible for sending out updates tracking new hires and upcoming leavers (aka I would be on this list if i decide to leave). If I am looking to leave my company, considering all of these things, how do I do it in the least awkward, most professional way possible? I want to put in at least a two week notice, but will continuing my work after that be weird?

I’m struggling at the moment to gauge how much I should be getting paid in my position as i feel I’m heavily underpaid for the work I do, which includes managing digital marketing operations across 12+ countries, manage the studio/creatives plus lead on any campaigns and strategies, etc. I’m also remote UK-based although my company is international. So what do you feel a fair UK wage would be for the role? I love my job/team but the stress isn’t worth it for me atm. Thanks in advance!
