Hello, I’ve been doing a Trade Support role in a bank for about 3yrs now. I’ve been tying to pivot into a client-facing role but it’s felt almost impossible. My long term goal is to work in Infrastructure Finance / Investing. Does anyone have any advice on making such a huge jump? What intermediate roles would you suggest? I’m sitting the CFA L1 this year but looking for other practical advice/steps.

What makes you say it’s felt almost impossible? Is this a mental barrier or do you have real examples?

For what it’s worth I’m in same boat; 6years in global markets operations (now a VP) and have had enough of this scorefest culture, low quality colleagues and poor pay. To make the transition I am not going to apply for VP roles. I am looking at analyst level

I’d suggest going the MBA route at a target university , T-15 if you’re in the US. Not saying it’s an automatic path to Infrastructure finance but it certainly does increase your odds and has been done by several people

I have considered the MBA, however it’s not a path I can afford right now (time & financial costs).

Are there any other qualifications you would advise getting to increase my chances?

Hello everyone!
I'm happy with the job I do but I expect a better compensation. I'm a B.com graduate, worked in operations for 3.5 years and moved to a technical role within the same company because I have always been passionate about tech. Now I have 1.5 years of experience as a product support engineer and am pursuing MCA in cloud computing. I have a package of 6.3 LPA. I'm expecting around 10 LPA.
Please tell if I'm expecting too much. Also suggest what skills I should acquire to achieve this

I'm having trouble. I have a client who is going from a climbing company, to a fitness company. They have a product that lets them expand from where they are. I am failing to sell them on the importance of strategy and taking a step back. Honestly, I don't even know that I'm sold on it. But I feel like it's important. Anyone have ideas on how to argue for this? Happy to share more info

I have been at my company for 3.5 years. One year ago (2.5 years into my employment with them) they re-leveled everyone and I was bumped to an entry level position on the terms that they changed my job title when they re-leveled, so “technically” I am at the early stages of my new title. Even though the job duties did not really change.
I’m not sure the best way to approach this. Has anyone else had a similar experience or know how I should advocate for myself?

Also doing MBA part time at a T15 school. Thinking about switching to IB but I’ve done my research and I think I would burn out of IB in two years but I might be ok with that for the opportunities after.

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.
