How do you get leverage as an internal transfer? A buddy of mine with similar experience and location received an external offer for nearly $100k TC more than my internal offer for the same role. I haven’t accepted it yet, and I’ve already caused a stir in my previous org. Should I accept an offer I’m already bitter about? Is my only recourse to now leave the company? Leaving would hurt both my previous org and new org.

Year 1: Should I be applying for analyst roles and studying for CFA if I know I don't want to stay in audit or work on getting my CPA and wait another busy season before I apply/request for transfer?

How should one properly calculate total comp? Base + bonus + stock options? Should you only include options that vest that year or include the total $ granted that will vest over 4 years?

I’ve had to step away from social media for my own mental sanity as I have a major issue with comparing myself to peers when it comes to life stages. One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

They asked me about ideas on what to do. I made some shit up. Now they’re doing it. And they’ve involved me. Why do I open my mouth? Why do people ask for my thoughts? Don’t, just don’t.

Serious Q: i keep hearing that the pipeline hasn’t materially changed and that there is a ~5% difference right now. We also laid off people. Partners are taking a pay cut. What are the economics of not giving anyone a raise? Is it basically as a hedge against future earnings?
