Here is an observation - I was getting 1 - 2 messages a week in linkedin from recruiters. Recently, I changed my background to support equal / gay rights. Since then, I have gotten zero messages/job opportunities.

Personally, I like to hear what my options are and I will read my notifications whenever i'm upset with clients/teams. At first, I didn't notice. But this last week, was shitty which is when I found out I have not been getting any. Maybe it's the economy or not...

Ive got a hedge fund research interview at an asset manager coming up. Spec is to contribute towards manager selection, research HF strategies, emphasis on both quantitative and qualitative research.

Anyone know what kind of skills they might be looking for? Particularly on the quant side as i have less experience there
