@OP Yeah, thought I was the only one who had to do this... I feel your pain! I learned the hard way that you need to be strategic.
Don’t burn bridges with your internal team as that will work against you if layoffs are considered. Fake it and “keep your enemies closer.”
Forge tight alliances with your client and Engagement Manager—to the point they ask for YOU by name. If you’re paramount in keeping the account, you become irreplaceable.
And let’s say things don’t work out, you’ll be well-positioned to go client side— so what are you waiting for? Start forming those relationships!
The second answer, not enough work at the moment. It feels that I have to compete with my co-workers to get a position on certain projects. Know what I mean?
Explain? Like, you have a team of multiple consultants in overlapping roles and nothing to do? Or there’s no work at your agency?
Either way, I’m personally more stretched thin than I am fighting for work!
