Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones?

I just left a CSG Client Partner role at SFDC. It’s a level 10 Senior Director, but there are also VP Client Partners. I came in after leaving Deloitte as an SM. OTE was ~ $410K inclusive of base, commission, RSU
What’s CO?
We have Account Partners and Client Partners. APs can be M/SM level at Big4 while CPs are usually D/P level. CPs are Sr Director and VP level people and usually take care of the bigger accounts from services standpoint ($10M+ ACV)
Presentation / sales pitch / business case. An hour.
Mentor
Client Partner takes the selling/BD element of senior manager/partner at Big 4, and strips out all the engagement delivery, account management, P&L management, and executive visibility. And the product you're selling is Salesforce professional services.
It’s a purely sale, commission role…probably between M/SM
No client partner they need minimum 15 years of experience
The work, it is probably more an SM or jr partner who knows nothing about Salesforce and can BS a lot without knowing much.
Stay at the Big Four if you want consulting career path. At Salesforce it’s an implementation model (with no commercial teeth or commitment) basically in a staff Aug model. But more importantly than that, there’s no ELT support for it to be a truly consultative role … mostly because services is dilutive to software margin and we’ve made a conscious decision not to compete with our partners. People in the CSG Professional Services team would like to think otherwise, but this org is purely a support function not a strategic GTM.
What do you mean
Definitely not Partner level, which requires investment and holds equity in the consulting firm (much more than just RSU and ESPP shares like at Salesforce)
I would say Level 7+ which is Manager/Architect level. That level is when you're eligible for equity grants
I’d love to talk to fishes who have successfully gone through the CP interview process. Please DM me. Thank you!
