Hey fiends, HELP needed here. I have an interview for an industry strategy role and they planned an "Excel Case Interview". Any insight on how to deliver actionable info from a dataset in 45 minutes?

Use null hypotheses - easier to demonstrate against. Descriptive statistics (use the analysis toolpak). Also - who doesn't love a good pivottable and pivotchart to visualize those hypotheses? Use IFERROR to eliminate div/0 errors.

like

Spend a lot of time developing actionable hypotheses that can be tested by the dataset presented. Working against hypotheses will keep you focused.

like

Even better if you can turn the dataset into a workable model to run sensitivity analyses that would update dynamic graphs.
Also maybe do some prework on issues the company or their industry is facing. Pulling in external perspective would be flashy.

Incidentally - conditional formatting... an underrated function that can really make bland data visually appealing

I’m having the hardest time finding a new job. I have 12 years of HR experience, a masters in HR, SHRM certification, and all I keep getting are rejection emails. Looking for referrals for a Technical Sales Executive position that is Remote (USA), possibly in the industrial sector. Last year I made $109k at AT&T so I'm hoping to at least stay in the same ball park but want a change. I have lots of experience selling IT/telecom, but I also have a Mechanical Engineering background so I'm a good fit for a wide range of technical sales. I have been thinking a role in the industrial sector with a longer sales cycle may be a good fit, can travel up to 25%

I am currently a medical biller and coder that just graduated. I am currently in an entry level position because I am still studying to get certified. I will have a year's work of exp in July and will sign a contract for another year because my boss is training me in more I don't know.

I'm wondering what the pay is for someone in my position without certification. I live with family and want to afford to move out but I am single and only make $18/hr. Is that standard or am I being underpaid?

UK market is open only for niche skillsets ( Data engineer + analytics). Firms aren't interested in sponsoring rest all skill sets, as they can be filled internally. They have limited quota every year, and are very choosy when it comes to allocation. Preference is first given to EU nationals and then Asians during shortlist stage.

Referral works, but the person who is referring you should have enough clout in the organization to present your profile!

Neither of these feel that helpful. Any one have suggestions for other identity-based goals that get at these changes I want to make?
