Hey guys, I graduated with a petroleum engineering degree 2 years ago (currently working on my CFA) and am trying to jump into general management consulting. Still employed and am somewhat safe from layoffs in my current position. I know my chances are better with a boutique firm, does anyone have suggestions/advice on how best to go about this? Any suggestions on which firms are generally more accepting of a different background? Thanks.

I was not getting any proper job, I joined a company as System Admin (the position name is only in pen and paper their actual work is data entry operator) on 3rd party payroll. The company only gives salary which is lowest in market. they don't provide any facilities. there is no career growth, learning facilities in this company. Still I am not getting proper job. Now I am forgetting the things I learned. Fully frustrated with my job. Please suggest how can I overcome the problem.

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

Anyone living close to an office, got a holiday party with food and drinks, and the venue started open for them until around midnight.
