I’d ask for 140 and see if they blink
Try not to give the first number. Tell them it depends on the opportunity or ask what the salary band is. Or find some other way to demur.
Then go in knowing why you want the job. Are you looking to get into Health because it gives you a longer runway career wise? Are you already in Health and want more money? Is it about the chance to make more/better work? That should help you decide how much you want to push on money.
But the background is that Health agencies typically can’t find people with the right qualifications. And the creatives they do have can get other jobs really easily if they have any relevant experience at all. Some shops have literally 20+ jobs to fill in creative right now. There are tons of general agency experienced creatives who need jobs but they’re too expensive to train up for what these agencies need. So even if you’re not in a Health agency now, they obviously think you may fit.
Good luck. Sorry if you knew all that.
80-110k.
Don’t tell them. Read this. https://salarynegotiations.com/docs/Negotiating%20Your%20Salary%20New%206th%20Edition%20Printer%20Friendly%20Version.pdf
I pay Senior Art Directors between $90-115K. If they’re asking for $120K and above that’s ACD territory for our agency.
be offered? I never know what to answer and because of that, I normally say less than expected and I need to nail that interview. Thank y’all!
Thank you all for your help! I really appreciate it :)
