hi all - I am a Senior Accountant in public accounting with a little over 3 years of experience (2 staff, 1 senior) and a CPA. I ultimately want to end up in industry, in a remote-role, making at least $100K. How many years should I stay in public before making the switch? Is switching jobs around the year mark frowned up to potential employers (I worked at a regional firm for 3 years and recently moved to a remote firm)? thanks!

You can probably get 100k and remote now with 3 years of experience

like

Agree with this. I got $100k with 2 YOE, fully remote, in 2021. Came back to public accounting but those jobs are out there for sure.

Hello there! I currently work in billing at a medical office. I got my Bachelors in Psychology a few years ago but I couldn’t find a position that seemed like a good option for me that was well paying and fulfilling. I tried working as a tech at an Applied Behavior Analysis clinic but it wasn’t a good fit. I’m hesitant to try case management or social work because I worry I won’t like it but I want to use my degree in Psychology. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

I’m interested in hearing about human capital consultants who went from PwC to one of the other firms, as well as people who came from one of the other firms to PwC. Happily ever afters as welcome as horror stories here. Thanks!

Need advice: do you tell your manager that you’re unhappy or do you just leave?

I’m being taken advantage of with being thrown so much work and really don’t see my salary increasing to be in line with my coworkers doing similar work. I’m a consistent high performer - management reviews tell me that much.

My coworker did mention to the manager that they’re not being paid well for the work they do, and our manager took it personally and told them they’re ungrateful 🥲
