Hi, I'm leaving Citi in 2 months. It's hard to make this decision. I have an offer from a small startup. In citi, my previous experience was not considered and was reskilled to different tech which is the reason for change.I don't like to exit citi. As I like the company so much. But considering my current knowledge,I am in the middle of the sea.I am afraid now that the new company's offer would be revoked due to this recession?Or can I take back my resignation in citi before the last working day.Is this wise decision?

Consulting is a faster path to very good money and frankly a lot of high end fun
If they want you to be a practice lead then you obviously have the toolset to do it a bigger firm. My first thought was stay but doubling your salary….difficult to pass up
It indeed is difficult. I was trying to think long term and compare it with someone opting to work at a tech startup that eventually goes public for example. I feel confident about the growth of my current first. So, I see a lot of long term benefits with short term adjustments.
Go with the name brand
The answer will be different for everyone, especially as you start moving up the corporate ladder. For an extreme example, would your current CEO leave their position to work at the name brand consulting Firm?
My advice is to think about your long term goals and see which option will help you get there
My long term goal is to be in consulting within the practice area that I am offered to lead. My firm is in the industry for over 15 years and works with lots of the top companies. So, I see lot of potential in growing a business and that’s what excites me. One thing is that I am finding it difficult to miss out on the high salary offer 😆
Forget profit sharing heading into a recession
I made the switch you mentioned and will never look back. Money, work life balance, education, and support is better. I wish I did it sooner.
Yes, I did. I’m drinking the KoolAid and loving it.
Long term: consulting. Otherwise you get stuck in your role for another 10 years which wont happen in consulting.
