Hi all! I started at a Big 4 in NYC in September 2024. I went to a top-50 uni for undergrad/grad school, but I’m starting to get the itch to move out of audit and currently have FDD offers from BRG, BDO, and Kroll in NYC. My question is: if my end goal is MM IB, am I better off waiting until senior and then recruiting for a Big 4 deals group or A&M, or should I take one of the MM FDD offers above? I’d love to start doing deals work now, but I know that, unfortunately, prestige is a factor in IB.

I just got an offer from a startup in India putting my total comp to 40LPA(incl. vested stocks work 8kUSD and I also have an offer from a big 4 in the London for 65250GBP + benefits.

Any thoughts on comparing the two options?

Know this is a long shot, but if I’m counseled out of one MBB, what are the chances I could get an equivalent job at another? And if not another MBB, thinking that a T2 or B4 could be possible? I’m not even sure I want to stay in consulting, but also feel like I didn’t get a fair shot at it

Decided that I’m leaving audit today. Trying to understand the full range of opportunities in forensics. Will have my CPA and CFE. So far, I understand that there are client-serving firms like FTI and then the B4 will have forensics arms as well. What are some other forensic accounting roles? Pros and cons? Better than audit? Honestly just looking to learn anything.

Is there such things as FP&A positions in Big 4? If so, are there better times to make the change than others (I.e. at senior vs manager)? I’m currently in FP&A and looking to work at a Big 4, or another company that offers the ability to move abroad. My current company and many others I know about do not offer the mobility to do so until much later, which is not what I want. Thank you.

How many overtime hours pay did you all receive as an analyst? In my offer, it stated I will be eligible to receive overtime pay as a CDP analyst so how much more $$$ is that for the year? 3k? 5k? Etc

What’s the difference between FAAS and FDD? Also which one pay better?

Has anyone left big 4 or other PA firms tax transaction service groups for industry (or know of anyone)? What was the role and salary bump, how are annual bonuses/raises in industry, what is a typical work week (hours) like? I don’t think I can take this always on just to stay afloat life much longer. For context I am considered a high performer, am near the top of the salary band at my level and have a great supporting network at Deloitte. It’s just not worth it to have zero personal life.
