I'm serving notice period in TCS and my last day is in 2 weeks. I requested for pickup of laptop in the portal but I came to know that it will take time for pickup and I won't be available if they come late. So I decided to go to office and surrender the laptop as I'm in the location of office only. Is there a seperate request to be raised for surrender of laptop and how to cancel the existing request for pickup. Please guide.Tata Consultancy
I’ve put myself up for L4 promo this cycle. Assuming I get it, what would be the best next steps to optimize for long-term growth/TC?
My understanding is that L5->L6 is extremely painful at Google. It may be easier to leave for a handful of years and gain managerial experience before returning.
L4->L5 is less challenging; however, I’m under the impression I can do this quicker at another company (if I leave after being freshly promo’d) AND get higher TC.

Have you got an idea of what area within fintech you want to move into? I.e payments, lending, capital markets, wealth management etc etc?
You will find a lot of crossover between digital accounting and many areas of fintech so its more about what you want to do and enhancing your knowledge in that specific arena. You can then play to your strengths.
As an example many wealthtechs create financial management dashboards and products, lenders create financial reporting tools that feed into accounting software etc. So I would put the emphasis on learning more about specific verticals within fintfintech and building knowledge on the key players and products
I think anything like that will always strengthen your knowledge and the value you can then add more than anything else.
Your experience is what will ultimately get you in the door, the additional learning is something that can help you get new knowledge and perspectives and help you evolve your career / value in the company and industry.
