I’m a S1 at a mid market firm in Dallas. I’m a CPA, Masters in Accounting and 3-4 years of industry experience (govt/nfp) before public accounting (2-3 years now). I don’t even make 65k ( underpaid, I know). I’m looking to leave PA, but not sure exactly what I want to do. Any advice on career paths outside of full cycle accounting?

Are any BBs or EBs still looking for experienced hires? I have 2 years of deal-focused strategy consulting for buy side and sell side biopharmaceutical firms (includes asset valuations, market models and risk adjusted NPV models). I am looking to break into investment banking and would love to do so without having to get my MBA. Any insights/tips would be GREATLY appreciate.

Need some advice: Last year I left consulting to take a job in industry (a pay cut, but more freedom, WLB). Due to covid I switched to yet another company (same industry). Is there such things as FP&A positions in Big 4? If so, are there better times to make the change than others (I.e. at senior vs manager)? I’m currently in FP&A and looking to work at a Big 4, or another company that offers the ability to move abroad. My current company and many others I know about do not offer the mobility to do so until much later, which is not what I want. Thank you.

Hello! I’m a recently graduated MSc Criminology student looking for work. I don’t know where to start or what I’m even looking for, but I’m generally interested in criminology, cyber security (no coding experience) & doing research. I’m very social and friendly and enjoy working with people, would also like hybrid work so I can work from home at times.. Any tips as to which roles I should look for? Any specific companies I should look into? (Preferably UK based, but open to most of EU)

What have you found most helpful in training up a very green junior brand planner or junior strategist? Any particular trainings or resources that are great at teaching foundational skills? I’ll be pulling them into projects and teaching through doing but I need some assistance in building up their core skills/training the strategy muscle.

Need advice. How bad is it to go from “forensics” to Sox. Pay is going to be higher. My ideal situation would’ve been to work in investigations/payments/fraud but I’ve not gotten any interviews. Probably just taking it for higher pay and I wouldn’t mind the boring aspect of it.

What exactly does a "Knowledge Attorney" do at firms that have them? My firm doesn't have such a thing, so I'm not sure if it's an opportunity worth pursuing or not. I'm definitely not interested if it's comparable to the Conflict Attorney role which is essentially dead end.

I like brown shoes with my suits. I would only wear black shoes if I'm wearing a black or super dark almost black suit. Black shoes look stuffy to me. I try to avoid wearing them. Anyone else feel this way?

Why did Toronto (or Canada?) change the exit signs from the classic red EXIT sign to the green running man? Wouldn’t it confuse more people especially elders in finding the exit?

I've been exploring exit opportunities for a few months and still holding out for the right opportunity. However, I've had A LOT of recruiters reach out to me for positions that are way below my current salary. They do the whole "your background and expertise is exactly what we're looking for" then turn around and offer a salary range that is 20k below my current level. My resume clearly says I've got 10yrs experience and an MBA. I **don't think* I should be getting offers of 80k-100k

My sister & I don’t get along because i feel she is extremely rude & prefers outsiders over family. My parents however, despite the fact that she disrespects them too, always say she is our daughter & we have to deal with it so just let her be. My mom thinks she is not in a good financial state so we should help her & I don’t want to given her disgusting behavior. Every time i buy something nice for myself, my mom kind of pushes me to buy for her too, and I don’t want to. Continued..
