Honestly, Albany, NY is pretty great if you don’t mind a smaller city. Center Square charming and historic, your a 10 min uber and 2 hr train to the city, plus easy access to Adirondacks and such if hiking is your thing. Less than 30 min to a small “international” airport. Most of the outer neighborhoods are also quite nice too. Plus the COL is likely going to be a lot less than bigger cities.
Tbh Virginia arlington ? Falls church is quite affordable.. it’s a 20 mins drive to dc that has great food and nightlife and it’s really safe and rent is really affordable … real estate - you can get a nice house for 600-700k
That’s the problem. Very hot, humid summers and cold winters. Feels like there’s only a few weeks each year where it’s actually nice outside. Not to mention all the pollen in springtime
Philly is super inexpensive as a city has great food and is really fun.
What a dumbass comment.
Pittsburgh
charlotte nc or raleigh nc.. great weather and beach/mountain within 3 hrs
Chattanooga! No state income tax in Tennessee and tons of great food.
Probably west coast for great Asian food. either Seattle area or CA.
I’ve done this (lived in west coast and worked east time). Got done around 2-3PM bc my team would sign off. I just didn’t attend any meetings before my 5am
I don’t have any meaningful suggestions. Congratulations on the permanent wfh. Are you able to share the name of the company that offers this and if possible, the name of the practice? Looking to switch
Please feel free to
Miami or Atlanta
Literally moving to Miami soon for significant other and dreading the lack of Asian food…
Jacksonville
DUVALLLL
Potential hot take recommendation: New Orleans
If you don’t mind the occasional flood and hurricane and a poorly run government, it’s a really fun, friendly city. There is a variety of incredible food, including Asian food (especially in the east & the West Bank) due to a large Vietnamese population. I dream about Dong Phuong’s king cake at least once a month.

We love Charlotte, NC 😀
Richmond va
Fairfax/Tysons Corner/Arlington VA. Close to DC and affordable housing relative to NY/SF
In all seriousness, Oklahoma City. They’ve grown so much. Very large Vietnamese population, an Asian district, great food, parks and low cost of living.
Denver is amazing
I second denver. Asian food is good, you get a mix of city life and outdoors. Taxes aren’t so bad

Western NC

I grew up in Asheville, NC and I don’t recommend it actually. They haven’t updated the infrastructure to deal with the massive influx of people moving to the area and it is absolutely terrible. Also housing prices are literally insane. Visit western NC - don’t live there.
