You paid for it and there is nothing you can do in regards of rescheduling it past your NTS date (to my knowledge). It sucks but you should focus on studying to pass.
Typically I don’t find this response to be helpful since it’s situational, however, I did barley pass BEC in less than two weeks of studying while working so it’s possible. Others have done it with less time. Point is, it’s even worse to let the opportunity go by without giving it a shot or even looking at the exam. You paid for it, so might as well give it your best shot
I would say BEC is the easiest of the four so if you really hunker down and study, you should be able to knock it out. Best of luck to you!
Focus on the exam. You'll eventually be terminated if you don't pass so focus on yourself. Don't let your other work suffer too much but make it a priority. Get it done and your a CPA forever!
If you are not up for manager promotion, CPA means nothing, really just a speed bump. BEC is the shortest and easiest section, you only need 75 to pass, continue to study and take exam as scheduled.
Btw your approach to studying in this next week should be your prerogative, however, I found doing straight MCQs was helpful. I was somewhat familiar with the topics so then I would only go back to chapters I knew I was struggling with. I’m a big fan of just doing as many MCQs as possible
And I feel like work didn’t really provide me with the availability to study. It’s busy season, so I totally get that - it’s what I signed up for. I’ve been studying, but don’t think I’m geared to pass. Should I focus the next week the best I can to study or should I just eat the money spent and focus on my house/getting through busy season?
I had a similar situation and failed FAR but you already paid for it so just hunker down for the next week and do it so you can at least say you tried. All you need is a 75, don’t need to be perfect
Idk how much more of busy season you have left, but you should maybe ask your manager if you can take a few PTO hours during the week, they all know the CPA is important, but maybe don’t ask if you’re actually super busy and working late
I agree with @AS1, mcqs are the way to go. Make sure you read the answers to questions you got wrong, but I also sometimes read the wrong answers for questions I got right to reinforce my understanding. MCQs are by far the best way to go and I wouldn’t work through SIMs at all
Thanks SA1, I appreciate it!
Thanks everyone!
