I currently do securities ops/accounting but want to move into a more client facing role. One of our marketing/client service associates got a promotion, so I’m guessing she’ll be doing higher level work, which may leave a gap for some of the work she used to do. How would I go about asking if I can work on that team in some capacity but still do my current role? I’ve only been there 1 yr and I know my current manager also has some higher level items in securities ops he wants me to do as well.

All, I’ve been a lawyer for six years plus a judicial clerkship. While I love the law, I pretty much hate the current practice of it. I’m looking to do something with my law degree but not necessarily stay in practice. Any suggestions? Every time I look I get so overwhelmed that I stop looking.

To try and break into that side after my internship at the same company, would it be more beneficial to take on a (very small boutique) PE internship or an IB internship this fall?

I got licensed in 2018 and started working for a firm in DC while commuting from Baltimore because of the pay. I hated the job/firm and am obviously in Baltimore now, albeit with a significant pay cut, but the lifestyle/job satisfaction is awesome. There’s not a gargantuan BigLaw presence in/around Baltimore to really skew salary averages, so I’ve been curious as to what types of salary ranges there are around here for junior/senior associates, partners, etc.?

After 4 years I want to leave law because of my adhd! I have been to 4 different firms and at each place I feel like I have been “found out”. At every place at least one attorney catches me about my attention to detail. I am so down on myself now. I can’t bring myself to care about small details that I know don’t actually matter. Sitting at a desk all day in word documents is the ultimate form of torture to me. My strengths are talking to people. I am super outgoing. Looking for a new career

At a previous company... we were contractually obligated to have deployed (and provided 24x7 monitoring of) an AT&T Cybersecurity product suite for a managed network client, but we never deployed the solution. They paid us for the 24x7 monitoring and the software for MONTHS. When they realized it, we owed them almost $27k.

Currently looking for my first job in Cybersecurity. I have a 4 year degree in CIS and emphasis in Security, but no Certifications yet. Asking for advise- is it possible to get my first job in this field without having a Cert yet? Or do most companies want a degree and certs right off the bat?

A lot of security pros I meet are not in a good place emotionally because it seems hopeless. However, some are just fine.
