Hi,
I just moved to the Jacksonville , Florida area. I'm currently looking for a hospital job. Can anyone give me some feedback on Ascension St Vincent's compared to Baptist Medical. Which hospital is better to work at as an ICU nurse? (benefits, pay, PTO, raises) Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

The benefits are way better at Baptist, I’ve had both their insurances and Ascensions doesnt cover anything. I know people that work at Ascension and nobody likes it there. They have horrible assignments and the management keeps cutting down on things to save pennies. They are regularly tripled with unsafe assignment. Baptist does triple you occasionally as well but not unsafely like ascension. They go by acuity and Ascension does not it seems like. Baptist in my opinion is far better plus they pay better by a few dollars.

I haven't worked for either but we work hand in hand with employees at Baptist and they all say really good things about the hospital as a whole. Every time I talk to one of their nurses or employees they just seem so happy to be at work. I have never heard a bad thing about Baptist.

In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly. I am finding that in most cases where I compare the voluntary benefits industry, I might be underpaid. What is an appropriate base salary for a position in which commission is replaced?

Hello everyone!
I recently found out that I was being paid less than everyone in the team (more than 25% gap to more expe teammates, around 15% less than new hires)
We all had the same responsibilities, I consider I even had a heavier workload (talking in past tense since I very recently made an internal move).
Things to consider:
On a work visa
Non-white
Non-male
What would you recommend doing?
Keeping it to myself?
Speaking up? How? With who?

Good morning!

Still trying to figure out this whole Fishbowl thing, so here goes my first post.

I would love to get into provider credentialing, but all employers I've looked at want at least 3 years of experience. So, I'm looking at Provider Network Coordinator roles, because I'm finding some of those roles don't need AS MUCH experience. I'm a RHIT, and have been working in healthcare for nearly 10 years.

Any input on employers is appreciated!
