Have an interview with a company I really want to work for tomorrow. My last job I was laid off b/c of an acquisition&recently accepted a job at a diff company b/c I couldnt afford not to. Have an interesting scenario. Holiday party season is approaching. At one of our parties (during working hours) there is an optional “talent show.” Employees can win door prizes. We have an entry that is a religious song - like one you would sing in church. I assume we need to let this employee perform this - or we are setting ourselves up for trouble. Likewise, if we permit this song, I assume we cannot compel attendance to the talent show. The talent show is part of a lunch thing.

I've been exploring exit opportunities for a few months and still holding out for the right opportunity. However, I've had A LOT of recruiters reach out to me for positions that are way below my current salary. They do the whole "your background and expertise is exactly what we're looking for" then turn around and offer a salary range that is 20k below my current level. My resume clearly says I've got 10yrs experience and an MBA. I **don't think* I should be getting offers of 80k-100k

Been with Big Four advisory (GRC) for 10 years. Really tired of meaningless “consulting” and commoditized implementations. Recently been through a rough job search and finally landed an offer with a mid size bank in their risk practice. People say that the culture there is quite political and bitter but I’ll learn a heck lot and get a new opening on my resume. Salary is the same.
