US big 4 partners don’t get paid “bonuses”. Big 4 partner pay is not directly driven by individual revenue or profitability performance. The incentive to do more is that we are a team and we all succeed together. If that incentive isn’t personal meaningful for you, then big 4 probably isn’t the right cultural fit. There are plenty of eat what you kill firms out there.
@EY2 - Kindly do let us know if you could gather further insights post your discussion with India based Partners. To clarify, I am going through the IAP process and till now I don't have much clarity about the framework except this info that during 1st year the equity % might be very low. Not sure if this is a general trend across all BIG4 in India. TIA !
At least in the US, partners receive distributions based on the number of share units they own, dependent on the share value /“price”. They don’t have a base salary or bonus. Share value is driven by overall firm performance.
Surely your company has a team of resources that can assist with questions like this.

I have been told a tentative bracket, but as I understand, BIG4 Partnership works differently. And that's why I am seeking inputs around it as I don't know much about it.
Salaried Partner compensation is very straightforward and is similar to other levels (i.e, fixed +bonus)
Sorry, if I was not clear. By specific I meant the approach to bonus distribution. Like if it is based on overall margin or absolute profit that a Partner generates? To give an example, if we take two Partners (P1 and P2) at same base package of $500k but P1 did $20m of revenue at 40% margin and P2 did $10m at 45%, how will thier bonus might look like ? If it will be same or similar, then what is an insentive to do more ?

Thanks for sharing the insights. Will need more details on the way shares are allocated. Say if I have an offer to join as Salaried Partner this year or Equity Partner next year , which one should I opt for. You can assume that salary of Paid Partner is approx 85% of Equity Partner.
