I'm going for an internal position switch to strategy consultant in advanced analytics.

The internal switch requires a normal interview 30' talk about motivations, strengths, ... And a case interview.

Some competitors search for 'creative' ways of tackling the first minutes of the 30' talk by creating eg. a video where others present the candidate.

How is this perceived by hiring managers, and if perceived good, what other ways are great?

on the way to an interview this morning eating a sandwich. I walked past a homeless man who had a stray cat perched on his lap. He asked for a bite of sandwich to feed them both as they hadn’t eaten in days. I gave the whole sandwich over and headed off to the interview. As I got to the interview room there was a large executive chair facing away from me. The chair turned and on top was a mirror. When looking in the mirror I could see the cat. I am the cat. I have successfully cleared the Skill 1 and Skill 2 interview rounds and was now expecting that the next would be the HR round.
I have been mailed that there is there is a third round before the HR round that is going to conducted the next week.
Skill 1: Pure Technical
Skill 2: Semi Technical + Managerial

What you I be expecting in this third round?

Hello, I am looking to make a career change that starts at a minimum 75K salary. The economy is tough right now and I can no longer afford to stay in my current role. I have a bachelors degree in Sociology with experience in managed care, utilization management, & clinical admin.. Does anyone have any suggestions for a possible higher paying career that I would be qualified for based on my background?

Had my final round last week at McK and still haven’t heard back. Resisting the urge to ping the recruiter until at least next week.

M/SM and above, why do you label a meeting as “touch point” or ask if you can have a “quick chat” when it’s something serious? Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.

I am a recent college grad working in consulting under Internal Audit branch I absolutely hate it. I love the company any ideas as to how i should ask to switch divisions I’ve only been in the role 5 months

I was offered a contractor role (~20 hours a week) at 90/hour. This is extremely attractive because it’ll double my income (and the tax deductions from 1099 are solid). With that being said, I also want to see what kind of conflicts I can see given that I’m at a B4 firm.

I get the whole “you can’t have a second job” thing and don’t care but I’m actually worried about causing major conflict of interest.

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.

STARTUP FOUNDERS and FAANG: would you rather hire MBB with 3-4 years of exp or Tier 2 with 5-6 years? If you could isolate those variables and everything else held constant.
