Average fleet age at Southwest is younger than both United and Delta and only one year older than American. You could have actually been on an older plane in their fleet but it’s not the norm
This is true. Higher cycle counts certainly make airplanes feel more worn out, the boarding/deboarding process is hard on the interiors. That being said, I often fly Southwest on personal travel and have found their fleet to be no better or worse than the mainline carriers. I think it’s more a perspective thing with Southwest. Consultants bask in status and the feeling of superiority that comes with upgrades and different cabin classes that exists in other carriers. When boarding Southwest we tend to be already looking down our noses at the experience. Just my $.02.
Does it feel like a steampunk airplane? 😂
Is it any different from your offices? 🧐
Well considering their engines blow up mid flight and their cabins have been known to crack I’d say pretty old. I usually just sit there and hope it lands in one piece
As if this happens all of the time
They love their 737s..
It’s dirty as hell - the windows are almost square. I have been on 737 many times on AA and it’s a different world.
FWIW like all other airlines one planes are really new others are terrible. Depends on the route. For example, MDW -> LGA horrible but Denever -> Seattle very nice
Thank you for flying Poor People Air
