I need to sit and think quietly about it.
In all seriousness, it helps relieve stress and allows me to take a breath. It also kept me from beating my children during their teens.
There is different kinds of meditation. It's mainly about focusing on one thing so you can develop your concentration. Definitely not falling asleep. But it helps to sleep when you actually want to sleep since your mind is more peaceful
Try this app called simple habit. Great for busy people like us

It has really helped me with stress and relaxation. Yoga + meditation has been the second best thing for my mental health after SSRIs.
Used to do it often when I was a kid. Couldn't do it recently. Definitely helps!
Serious question. What do you do when you meditate? Do you think about stuff while you sit quietly and close your eyes? Or not think about stuff? Fall asleep? I always thought meditation was silly but maybe I'm just ignorant.
