Not acceptable at all. Stress is not an excuse to use you an escape goat. If she wants her damn records and wants to yell at someone she should call your subpoena vendor and yell at them since they messed it up. Apologies are in order. My attorney did that. He goes to the root of the problem not the messenger. 🤨
I second what the above posted; when I work in PI Ciox was a hassle to deal with. Moving forward, you could ask your attorney which case should take priority if one has a higher settlement potential than another that are on similar timelines. You could keep trying to call ciox and ask for status updates about the records and kind of “annoy/bug them” into getting the records expedited just to get you off their backs. Don’t let it get you down though, it wasn’t intentional and you learn to let it go or else you just keep letting it bog you down and affect other areas of your work.
She is currently under a lot of pressure for another case (the one we need records for is worth maybe $15-20k, the other is $5-6 million) and I was just really caught off guard.
The stern talking to was bordering on yelling (very loud and a lot more aggressive than normal) and I was just shocked at this reaction and have let it affect me for the past 24 hours. The issue is currently being resolved by CIOX, but I've been on edge.
Maybe I'm just being dramatic.
Ciox always does this, it's not your fault. The best way to get in front of this is to request the records early on and by fax or even email if you can to move along the process. Don't let the stress from your attorney get you down. It's not professional to speak to anyone in that way and you can only do your best. Try to stay organized and on top of deadlines and don't take it too personal.
Its unacceptable. You need to pray about it because, if you want your job, you can't yell back, then you will be blamed. Its the records company fault, make sure she knows this in email. They might try to use the delay in your evaluation.
