I have to write down a list of all the issues I’m seeing - that will help me see realistically what i can/can’t change and focus my attention ok what can be alleviated. If in a heated moment I feel like I’m going to cry I have to get out of there for a few. If there’s anyway you can keep an ice pack somewhere and put it covering your face for about 30 seconds it immediately helps lower your heart rate, which for me holds back the tears. It’s something I learned from my therapist called Diver’s response, and wow does it work. I hope this helps!

I save it for when I’m with my fellow seniors and we can have a gripe sesh. Find a group of like minded individuals preferably of your level and try to get together and talk it all out. Even once a week helps. It’s hard this time of year but it can really help not only to get it off your chest but to hear you’re not alone either.

Can’t count the number of times I’ve cried in the bathroom, in my car, and late in the evening even at my desk. I took FML to get on meds and settled into therapy, then cane back on FWA so that I could manage going forward. My heart goes out to you and hope you can find a way to take care of yourself.

I still can’t understand why people work at big 4. 95% complaints are from big4 employees. Obviously your job stresses you out. Is it really worth it working there?

I came from a consulting background in tax credits and incentives. I went into finance to pass the time on my non compete clause from my previous firm, but now I have an interview at EY and I’m not sure if I want to give up the work life balance. Any advice?

Went from a big firm to work for a smaller firm. The people in the smaller firm are protective of their work and are good by their work too. I no longer feel chaos or stress. I am treated with respect and my schedule is more normal. I am even working more billable hours than before, but it feels like a seamless experience. I don’t work then past 5pm or anything out of the ordinary for this time of the year. I am so grateful!
