Oftentimes, we get too bogged down by getting things done and going through the motion of deals that we often don’t reflect back on personal professional development and skills acquisition. Any advice on the above topic?

When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. Because I can’t guarantee that and I really don’t know if everything is going to be ok. Received an offer for equity research and IB, both in toronto. ER paying $120k base and my understanding is that bonus can be around 25-30%. IB is paying $105k base but likely higher bonus? Which one would u choose if you think you would be good at both

Nyc based. Is it at all possible to make at least 200 base in corp dev or strategy at a tech company? Super burned out but don’t want to take a paycut in base. I realize I’ll never make all in comp the same in tech but if I can match base I’d be content.

I’m four months into my job and I got put onto a PIP. I worked so hard to break into IB, put up all the hours and even working 2am nights for weeks, learned a ton, and improved a lot along the way as the sole analyst yet this happens. I’m extra worried because it doesn’t seem there’s IB analyst positions out there. Im really hoping come January more positions come up but I’m just praying they don’t fire me until then. Anyone have general tips for this situation?

Closing in on a corp dev offer. I work at a boutique (~10 ppl) where the analysts/associates carry a lot of weight during deals.
