i never did... i got mouths to feed so i really cannot afford to lose hours... and plus i was already there... might as well make the most money as i can... overtime if i was allowed to too...
its still the same now that im getting paid salary... i dont leave until the job is done... and i mean fully done...
As a manager, I would remember these occurrences. To me, what you are showing your manager when you "jump at the chance" is that you don't want to be there. As a manager I remember this when I am scheduling, and when I need to offer people more hours. I'm not going to offer additional hours to someone that doesn't want to work the hours they are scheduled for. My managers figured out when I was an hourly employee that I wasn't the guy to ask to go home early. I was the last resort in that situation.
I don't. I've already committed my calendar and made the effort to show up. Plus the transportation cost and time I'm better off staying. It also looks good to your supervisor.
